About the Bastards
Thanks to YouTube’s lift of the 15-minute restriction on video length, the remaining Top 10s have been posted on our channel there. Hopefully people find them interesting – if you haven’t checked them out, I recommend it. Note that they span most of the duration of the site, so there’s a variance in our quality of presenting. I think it’s kind of cool to see how we’ve gotten better at how we do things – although interesting to see other aspects that we have arguably not done as well. Anyway, let us know what you think about any aspect of these videos either on here on via a YouTube comment – The Kansas City Bastards on YouTube.
Also, this week’s podcast will actually be the beginning of a two-week series exploring (continue reading…)
We probably should have mentioned this with more fervor in the past, but our crappy web videos are also available on iTunes for the low, low price of free. Check them out – subscribe, download, show your friends, and become a social leper. Click the link below or on the right side of the page to take you there – don’t worry, it’s not one of the stupid ones that actually opens iTunes, until you tell it to.
So my buddies Captain Logan and Vince do these great videos on a very, very regular basis. If you’re at all into geek stuff, pop culture, or you like getting drunk and making fun of those who are, then check their stuff out. We will shortly have some of their videos here (look for the Geekvolution category under “Other Magnificent Bastards” or keep checking the main page), but definitely look at their site as well: http://www.wearegeeksnotnerds.com – and look for Captain Logan’s contribution to a future video of ours soon.
Do you see that wonderful, shiny new “Discussion Board” link on the right sidebar of this wonderful, shiny website? Click it, register, post, and it will set you free.
Well, probably not, but at least you can be a jerk in public and not care. That has to count for something, right?
We’re always looking for ways to get better, so feel free to rail on us. Constant public humiliation = improvement.
We know we haven’t been updating as often with new video content as we should. It’s that old thing about life intervening – I wasn’t screwing around in the bourbon commercial when I said “Making videos is hard work…”
The rest of the video, however, you can take or leave.
In any case, we’re working on several new things to bring you, and since it was fun bringing Rock Chalk Chiefs into things with the latest Chiefs video, we’re looking to expand the Bastards family of bloggers and videographers. Got a rant, a camera, and YouTube (though preferably blip.tv due to length and video quality)? Well, if you’re not a complete moron*, we’re interested in hearing from you!
E-mail email@example.com if you’re interested in helping out, or if you have any blog or video suggestions for us to tackle.
In addition, due to realizing just how damned annoying they are, we’ve axed the ads that play before and after our videos. The smaller advertisements that pop in during the videos will stay for now primarily so that we get enough ad revenue to buy a case of beer sometime before 2015.
*Note: You can be a moron so long as you’re an entertaining moron.
