Damn That’s Cool
For those that like the convenience of YouTube for listening to tracks but want to set up a playlist and don’t like the diminished sound quality, Grooveshark.com is a godsend. Seriously. Jeff and I use it all the time when we’re doing the musical top 10 stuff in order to listen to the full list before we talk about it, and it’s handy as hell for that. I also use it a lot of times when I’m practicing guitar, since I can find damn near anything on there and not have to download anything. It’s free, legal, and awesome. Check it out – http://www.grooveshark.com
You can thank me later.
Maybe this is nerding out a bit for some of you, and it may be old news to others. That said, for anyone’s who’s been living under a rock for the past few years or who just aren’t as nerdy as myself and company, home theater cables and components can be mighty expensive if you live and die by the rules of Best Buy. After all, Monster Cable is a joke (not worth it, and I fell into that trap once with guitar cables), and the alternatives are both expensive and shitty to a large degree.
Penn Jillette rocks. Whether it’s “Bullshit!” on Showtime or any of the Penn and Teller guest appearances on just about anything, I dig what the man does. What can I say, I have a soft spot for loud-mouthed fat guys. What really makes this site awesome though is both the audio and video archives. I have spent many a night just listening through the archived PennRadio shows.
This guy kicks my ass on the guitar. I could probably pull off… 50-60% of the stuff he does on the guitar. That’s a generous estimate. In any case, the dude does some truly great video game music covers.
Be sure to check out the Mega Man 2 cover below, and the YouTube channel above. Subscribe. We already have.
I don’t know how many times while watching Real Genius that I wanted a shirt that actually said “I [heart] Toxic Waste,” but it was more than once. Then I found a place online that made it and sells it. Or, howabout the green skeleton shirt Nigel Tufnel wore in “This Is Spinal Tap”? They certainly have it as well. (continue reading…)
Yep, another video site. For nerds. You can say all you want about Doug Walker having one of the more punchable faces on the internet, but I honestly enjoy most of the shit on here – LordKat’s “Until We Win” series is great for those like myself who prefer to watch video games than to play them (I know, I’m a bad nerd). Some of the other contributors I could take or leave, but overall just check it out and you’re bound to find something you like.
How many revival songs can you think of with the title “Fuck You”? Well, now there’s one. Aside from this being the man that performed as the blackest motherfucker in the galaxy at the Video Music Awards a few years back (with Chewbacca on drums, no less), he continues to be (continue reading…)

It plays pool, it folds laundry, it grabs beers for you – and it exists today, not in one of those videos from the 1950s about the “World of Tomorrow.”
Kevin Pollak kicks ass, and so does his web show. Great time killer, and there are a lot of under-represented guests on there (the show with Billy West and John Di Maggio is great, as is the one with Dave Coulier). If you are interested in anything related to film or TV, it’s interesting as hell, and since it’s a web show there doesn’t seem to be a time limit. Also, since it’s a web show, it’s pretty fast and loose with the production values, which is not a bad thing.

Now then, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to think of material for the Larry King game.
I love James Rolfe. It may sound odd, but he’s a man after my own heart. From the Angry Video Game Nerd to his trips to movie locations, I’ve literally enjoyed everything he has done. If you love foul-mouthed, scatological humor from one of the original bastards of the web, and also like legitimate film-making from someone with a true passion for the art, check it out: Cinemassacre
Make sure to check out not only the reviews, but some of the more traditional horror films that he has been involved in – they’re equally badass.
Oh, and one more thing – here’s the direct link to the video where he and his co-pilot take a trip to the mall from George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead: Click here, dummy.
